Mickey ❤️ ~ 10 years old | mixed breed | small-sized boy (3 kg) 🩺 Vaccinated, healthy, dewormed, with passport, neutered 📍 Currently at a municipal pound in Limassol Really needs a loving forever home ❤️‍🩹 Please help us find a home for this little senior boy! 🥺❤️ The first five photos show Mickey when he had just arrived at the pound. He was found completely alone on the street, and it was clear that he had been struggling for quite some time. His coat and skin were in terrible condition. His fur was full of sharp, dry grass and plant material that had become embedded in his skin, causing cuts and irritation — and some of it was so sharp that people could easily hurt themselves while trying to help him. Then came the grooming day. In the 6th photo, you can see a completely different Mickey — happy, clean and smiling on his way back from the groomer. And honestly, what seemed to make him happiest wasn’t even the grooming itself, but simply being around people and receiving attention and care. For a while, Mickey had a foster home. You can see him enjoying his time there in photos 7 and 8. Unfortunately, his foster family could not keep him long-term, and Mickey had to return to the pound. The 9th video shows him coming back… confused, stressed and clearly wondering why he was there again. 💔 Throughout all this time, Mickey has been under veterinary care. When he was found, he was in very poor condition. He was severely underweight, weighing only 2,5 kg, and was suffering from anemia. Most of his teeth were in terrible condition and needed to be removed. He also developed an infection on his back leg because sharp plant material had penetrated his damaged skin. But Mickey finally got the medical care he needed. ❤️‍🩹 And there was another, much more serious discovery. The vet found that one of Mickey’s testicles had not descended and was significantly enlarged — about twice its normal size. He needed urgent surgery, so the abnormal testicle was removed and Mickey was neutered. Later, the biopsy revealed something heartbreaking: the testicle was cancerous. Thankfully, it was removed completely and in time. 🙏 Today, Mickey has fully recovered. His health has improved dramatically, and his vets are giving him a very good prognosis. At this point, he only needs routine annual veterinary check-ups, just like any other dog. ❤️ Now there is only one thing missing from his recovery story: A HOME. 🏡 Mickey is a tiny senior boy, and we simply cannot imagine him spending another winter in a municipal pound. He has already been through so much, and he deserves to spend his golden years somewhere warm, safe and peaceful. Despite his small size and age, Mickey has a strong personality and can be quite dominant with other dogs and animals. For this reason, we are ideally looking for a home where he can be the only pet. A home with another animal could also be considered, but only after a careful introduction and compatibility test. We truly believe that being 10 years old should never mean that a dog is no longer worth choosing. ❤️ Mickey still has so much love to give. We want to see him spend his senior years surrounded by kindness, comfort and people who will never let him feel unwanted again. Senior dogs deserve to be loved.
