Raya is 9 years old and will turn 10 in March. Sadly, she became unwanted when her family could not manage life with small children and decided to give her up. She was placed with another woman, but over time more dogs appeared there, and Raya began to struggle. The previous family stayed in touch, providing food and vaccinations. When it became clear that Raya was not doing well, one of our volunteers stepped in, and she came under our care. Raya cannot live in a home with small children, as they are very stressful for her and she may protect her space. However, she can feel comfortable in a family with children aged 12+ who respect a dog’s boundaries. She is otherwise a wonderful dog — fully healthy, very affectionate, enjoys being held, and loves staying close to people. We are looking for a calm, understanding home where Raya can finally have stability, care, and love — not be passed from one place to another.
