Teddy arrived at the shelter in May 2025 after some kind people found him and were worried about his condition. As volunteers, we took him to the vet for examination and X-rays, which showed an old fracture in his leg — broken in three places — and he was also diagnosed with leishmaniasis. Despite everything, Teddy has adapted to shelter life and tries his best. He can still run and enjoys spending time outdoors, but his leg causes him ongoing discomfort. Specialists have confirmed that the best option for his long-term well-being is to amputate the injured leg. Unfortunately, this surgery cannot be done within the shelter, as he will need a home environment to recover properly. Teddy urgently needs at least a temporary home where he can have surgery and begin his healing journey. Teddy is a strong and incredibly brave boy — full of life, affectionate with people he trusts, and always hopeful for a better future. Because of his energy and sensitivity, a calm environment without small children would suit him best. What Teddy needs most is a patient and loving family who can offer him safety, care, and the chance to finally heal — both physically and emotionally.
